Worksop Town Academy Football Education Open day another huge success!

Over 40 potential new football scholars joined us recently for a snapshot of what life is like as Worksop Town Academy Football Scholar

Worksop Town Academy recently hosted another hugely successful open day, promoting their football education opportunities to over 40 potential new students from across the region. The day included a presentation delivered by Academy Director Laurie Griffin as well as a training session delivered by the clubs UEFA qualified Coaching staff, providing a snapshot of what a day in the life looks like as a football scholar at the club.

Academy Director, Laurie Griffin said, ‘at Worksop Town Academy we are proud to provide opportunities which allow young people to excel both academically and also from a sporting perspective. Our programme has grown at an incredible rate based on the hard work and dedication of our everyone at the club to deliver a programme which allows participants to reach their potential.’ 

UEFA A licensed coach and Head of Academy Operations, Steve Stennett added, ‘it’s easy to see why this program has grown so quickly in the past few years based on the number of success stories, we’ve already achieved in supporting young footballers excel along their footballing pathway, and also when we hear of the success, our former students are having in their careers’
